Our Story

How It Started...

At about 14 years old, during my early years of high school, my mother and grandfather introduced me to investing. Consequently, after being introduced to the wonderful world of investing, my grandfather would send me a weekly quiz (to test my new found skills) with questions like, "What did the TSE close at on Friday?", or "How much is copper worth right now?"; my incentive was a few dollars, so I would go to the newspaper and record my findings, and await my return. Finding the information was one thing but experiencing how it worked was another. So around the same time, granddad started me out with a "portfolio" - it was one stock, Dickenson Mines, in which I somehow made 40% in two weeks, and I was hooked.

Many books and discussions followed, and by 18, I was pleased to let my Grandfather know I was enrolled in the Canadian Securities Course; the first step to becoming a licensed financial advisor.

It soon became apparent that the learning would never stop. As the years went by I gained experience and accumulated formal qualifications. It gradually became apparent that the investment world was no less than a reflection of human nature, and as such, the possibilities were endless.
